Gas lines and carburetor(s) free of leaks.
Fan hub and blades free of cracks.
Fan belt in good condition.
Throttle linkage and return spring(s).
Wiring in good condition.
Engine mounts
WHEELS & TIRES
Lug nuts properly tightened and seated against wheel.
No cracks in wheels or loose spokes.
Tires in good condition.
Front wheel bearings, kingpins, etc. in good condition and adjusted properly.
Rear axle nuts tight and cotter-pinned .
STEERING
Axle & tie-rods free of cracks, no excessive wear, properly lubricated.
No excessive play in steering wheel movement (not over 4"), no binding.
Shackles, U-bolts, shocks & links. All cotter pinned properly.
Steering gear cover screw must be in place and tight. (Model T's only)
BRAKES properly adjusted, firm pedal.
ELECTRICAL Battery secure, ignition switch operable and easily reached.
SEAT BELTS All open cars, also as required by the rules.
HELMET All open cars, also as required by the rules.
OVERALL Safety & mechanical condition.
VEHICLES WITH OTHER MECHANICAL DEFECTS SHALL NOT BE
ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE
THE DECISION OF THE SAFETY COMMITTEE IS FINAL.
